Teaching Australia under the General Skilled Migration Program
From 22 March 2010 there will be changed skills assessment criteria for teachers with Teaching Australia under the General Skilled Migration Program.
There will be i.e. new English language requirements:
a. the applicant completed at least one year of higher education level study for an initial teacher education qualification in Australia, NZ, USA, Canada, Ireland or the UK
or
b. the applicant obtained a "proficient" score (7.0 in each of the four bands) in the academic IELTS. The results of IELTS examinations submitted to teaching Australia are valid for one year.
