English language requirement for GSM visas, 12 November 2009
From 01.01.2010 the English language requirement for all General Skilled Migration Visas (GSM) will be changed. All applicants who nominate a trade occupation from then on need to demonstrate a minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components of the IELTS Test (English reading, listening, writing and speaking). This requirement replaces the previous treshold of 5.0 in each of the four bands.
